Material: Recycled Roof Slate, heavy leather cord for hanging.
Original roof slates were manufactured by hand following a five step process: cutting, sculpting, splitting, trimming, and hole punching. Because of their age they may have slight imperfections, varying texture and markings that add to their beauty and make each one unique.
I hand select each slate and thoroughly clean and prepare them to meet my quality standards and become ready to paint. They are heavy and sturdy.

This is an original artwork, signed by me, hand painted in professional grade acrylic paints.
The artwork has been sprayed with a waterproof protective varnish. Can be used outside or inside

The detail of the flowers and arrangement of the vibrant colors makes for a beautiful piece of art. The welcome slate was well packaged and arrived in perfect condition. The black leather rope to support the heavy slate is insufficient and broke the first night the welcome slate was displayed on our front door. Fortunately, I had wrapped the leather rope three times around the nail in my front door. This morning, the slate was awkwardly dangling and the knot and two inches of the rope was hanging from the left hole in the top of the slate. Fortunately, the welcome slate did not fall and damage my front porch while breaking into pieces. BEWARE: The leather rope is NOT strong enough for the weight of the slate and will fail!!! This issue needs to be corrected.
